Letter to Minister of Education in support of ETFO
If you'd like to send a letter to the Minister of Education denouncing the cuts, we have drafted a letter that you can copy and customize.
Dear Minister Lecce,
I am a parent at Duke of Connaught Public School. I am writing to express my support for ETFO and OSSTF workers currently taking job action, and my rejection of your government’s devastating cuts to public education.
The blame for the worsening conditions at schools and any missed time in the classroom due to job action will fall squarely on your shoulders. I insist that you return to the bargaining table, and in order to avert a full strike, that you reverse the cuts to education, restore the vital resources that our children need and deserve, and settle a fair contract with ETFO and OSSTF workers. Your devastating attacks, especially on the students who need the most support, have shown us and the public at large, that our kids and their futures are not your priority, and instead that offering tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations is your goal.
We demand supports for special education, protecting the kindergarten model, addressing classroom based violence, the return of high school classes to an average of 22 kids, removal of mandatory e-learning and the appropriate number of teachers and education workers in the classroom.
