Adopt-a-School Library Program
School Librarian Tara Zwolinski has sent out a letter [pdf] about the Adopt-a-School Program which will be raising funds for Duke's library from September 15 to October 7 at both the Coles location in the Beaches and online.
SAC (Parent Council) Elections
All parents are welcome and encouraged to join the SAC Executive by running for one of the positions. These positions are usually acclaimed or people shuffle between positions so that all those who would like to sit on the Executive council may do so. (If there does happen to be too many people for all the positions, a balloted election will take place on September 25th.) For more information or to put your name forward for a position, please complete the self-nomination form [pdf].
June Lunch Menus
Hot lunch is a daily cost of $3.50 for grades 1-8 and $3.00 for kindergartens and $4.00 for staff. June menus are available on the Nutrition page.
With all the community fundraising events that are organized by SAC each year, you may wonder how our funds are spent. Here are some of the ways in which we all help support our school:
All of these items are extras that we offer our students, which are not funded by the TDSB. We also continue to fundraise for the DUKE PLAYS campaign, which will support the eagerly awaited playground redesign, as well as recently announced renovation and redesign of the school library!
Not all of us have time to volunteer or attend our myriad events. If you still want to contribute to our efforts, here is your chance. Attached is Enrichment Fundraising form. Donations of 25$ or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
